Chef Karl

Omi was supposed to be here this weekend and I wanted to use the occasion to show her the basil plant she saved the last time she was here. It only had two leaves left, but my mother told me how to take care of it and so it grew to be a pretty big plant. Unfortunately Omi is a little sick so here's an electronic factual report of the plant development. Karl apparently really likes basil. Maybe he will be a chef? His first cook book could be titled Clever Cooking with Karl Kreye.

Get better, Omi!

How DID you do it? Seriously, my semi-harvested basil plants always die...

The secret is to put the water in the container below and not directly into the potting soil. Totally works.

I did it wrong all my life ... no wonder they died. Will try her method. Thanks!
