Paule

So far we have shamefully not announced the arrival of Elias Paul, a.k.a. Paule on this blog. The son of my friend Maria from the beautiful city of Frankfurt – honorary godmother to Karl – was born on August 14th of this year. The first one is a picture from a couple of weeks ago. He has grown a lot since then as we noticed when he was here to celebrate the lovely Oktoberfest together with his good old friend Karl.

Biker Boy

Karl has been going to the daycare center for over three weeks now and luckily it has been going really well. I used to pick him up by tram, but last week the weather was halfway decent so I could finally put the bike seat to use. As you can see, Karl was only medium excited, but well, I'm sure he'll figure out soon that it's more fun to be biked around than sitting in a stroller. It's possible that he was just not into that whole helmet thing. Nothing he can do about that though. We live in the city of crazy BMW and Audi drivers. That's way more dangerous than the streets of Brooklyn.

Oh yes, and he's wearing shoes now. Real shoes. So much stuff is happening! So hard to keep up!

Happy Birthday, Omi!

A little late in the day (we had modelling issue), but nevertheless: We wish you all the best!

Longtime Friends

There's not that many people who I have been friends with for three quarters of my life. Karl is different though. He's still hanging out with his buddies from the baby massage class whom he met back in January. Four of them including their mothers came over this afternoon to hang out and just before those crazy kids took our apartment completely apart we agreed that it would be safer for everybody to finish off our mega playdate at the playground.

Happy Birthday Cousin Max!

As you can see I was trying not to be too intrusive and send you our birthday wishes via blog, but Karl wasn't into it. He really, really wanted to talk to you. He's still trying desperately.

Anyways: We all hope you and your parents have a great day!

Dackelparade

The Bavarians love their sausage dogs so Andrian and Karl went to the parade in ten days ago. Since I'm a Frankfurter so I wasn't allowed to go, but it looks like my son didn't need me to make new four-legged friends anyways.

In other news: We have our internet back! Yeah!

Back In Summer

It looks like Summer is officially over here in Munich. Since this city is only bearable when the weather is good I'm keeping the illusion by posting pictures from a couple of days ago. This is Karl at the architecturally fancy playground next to the newish jewish museum. It's so fancy that kids fall out of the designy sandbox on a regular basis because it's elevated from the ground. Smart!

There's Hope

Yes, we've been back from France for quite some time now, but we haven't had a chance to post all of our very postable pictures since then (see last entry). It seems like there's hope though. Tomorrow supposedly someody will come to reopen our window to the world. Let's knock on wood. Until then I'm stealing some internets from our neighbors.

We interrupt this program...

....due to technical difficulties with our local internet provider, who is solidly rooted in the skill sets and work ethics of Communist Germany's past.
